Okies, for those of you who have been following this thread Brainstorming page, here be the official sign up sheet. If you want to take part in this project (be it as an artist, buyer or both!), this is the sheet to fill out - if you please. :)

Would you be willing to purchase a deck?
Cost-wise this should be no more than 15 (that's including postage & packaging). I will, however, pester Ivorygraphics for an answer to my request for a quote and let you know the precise amount. The price quoted above is taken off their website, and, hopefully, pretty accurate.

Would you like to volunteer to be an artist?
Anyone who is willing to have their artwork viewed by the rest of the forum is eligilble for this. :) The propsal is to have the red suits (diamonds & hearts) as FW characters, and black (spades & clubs) as Forum characters. Aiming to get 13 folks willing to draw / paint / whatever you use if possible. :arty:

If you would like to be an artist, would you prefer to do 4 or 2 pictures?
TWO pictures - Each artist gets assigned one FW character and one Forum one. These will appear twice in the deck - once for each suit of their designated colour (i.e. Lutra as King of Spades & Clubs).

FOUR pictures - Each artist gets assigned two FW characters and two Forum characters, each of which will appear once in the deck. In this case - using example above - Lutra would be either King of Spades or Clubs, but not both.

Do you want your fursona to be included in the deck?
If so, please can we have a link to it so the artists can know what to draw? This doesn't have to be right now ... just at some point in the near future ;)

Writers ...
This is an idea that's just hit me, as I don't want to exclude those whose talents lay more in writing than drawing. How do you feel about thinking up a quote to go with each character featured in the deck - both FW and forum? I was thinking this could be put on the back of the cards, or in small print underneath.

... then again, this might bulk the price up a bit, but shouldn't really if we encompass it into the picture somehow. Or they could be put on the back (more room)? That may well add to price ... hmmm, think this needs more thought ... but I shall ask the company anyway when I pester them tomorrow.

Artistic volunteers ... on the back of that, how do you feel about others of this forum writing a quote about you / your fursona? I think we can trust each other not to be spiteful, and all quotes - should this go ahead - can be vetted by whomever they represent.

Who gets on what card?
I don't think we'll all agree on every card, but if I could have some ideas of who really wants a King to be the Great White Stag - or whatever - that would be a huge help!

I will edit this to make the list of artists up to date. :)

P.S. please could this be pinned, someone? Ta.

LIST OF ARTISTIC VOLUNTEERS ....
1) Starwolf - 2 or 4 cards
2) Tsuki - 2 cards
3) Clusty - 4 cards
4) RNG - 4 cards
5) Sir Cabbage - 2 or 4 cards
6) Fox G9 - 4 cards
7) Clan - 4 cards
8) Silv - 2 cards
9) Roundhay - 2 cards
10) Lute - 4 cards
11) Thorn? - (pending)
12) Secret Fox - 2 or 4 cards
13)

(I've also added how many cards folks have said they're willing to do).

...and maybe Ranger? Do not be defeated by the measly deadline ... which ... doens't exist yet, hahahhaha!

Would you be willing to purchase a deck?
I'd love one! But I can only do snailmail :/.

Would you like to volunteer to be an artist?
Sure I'd be up for it ^_^.

If you would like to be an artist, would you prefer to do 4 or 2 pictures?
Two Please ^_^

Do you want your fursona to be included in the deck?
Yes please! I'm sure you all know what Tsuki looks like now but here:

(Posted Image)

I don't mind about the quote thing. I think that's a lovely idea and gets other people involved. I'm sure no-one will post anything hateful or spitful about someone. I mean, we are such a lovely community here ^_^

Who gets on what card?
I can't think at the moment but I think that Lute and Fenrir should be King and maybe TGWS and Fox. How about four different Jokers? For example Si, Clan, and Weasel on another? I can't think of a fourth. But it may be an idea to do just a number generator for the number cards. It's a fair way of doing it and easier I suppose.

Topic pinned :D

Would you be willing to purchase a deck?
Definitely :D

Would you like to volunteer to be an artist?
Sign me up, Scotty!

If you would like to be an artist, would you prefer to do 4 or 2 pictures?
Four :D Don't give Lute double the power D: That's dangerous D:

Do you want your fursona to be included in the deck?
Please :3 I shall post a link later :3

Writers ...
Cool idea, but I'm afraid no writer :3 I hope we get some participants though! ^_^
And yeah, I'm happy to have someone write a quote about me/Clusts :3

Who gets on what card?
Well, if it's not a bother to suggest, is it all right if we reserve the King of Spades for Lute? And Clusts needs some form of spade power too :3 Maybe the Ace of Spades? But not because I like to gamble, I tell you; I'm not your man D: Heh... Although I don't want to go around bagging titles :3 Queen of Spades Clusts is also possible, bwahaahaaaaaa~ Ok, I'll stop now D: I also like the idea of Clan being a Joker, hahha :3 Si, Clan, Weasel and Measly, haha. But I don't want to force ideas upon people if they don't want to be that or whatever :3 Just sharing thoughts ^_^ Ok, so I said I would stop... I'm stopping now D:

And yeah... Great White Stag... Hmm, I reckon he's more of an ACE :3 Maybe Badger and Fox as the Kings? I don't know... maybe Badger is more of a Jack? Even though he's awesome. I do like the idea of Scarface and Fox as the kings, but I don't want the pack becoming all Fox dominated. It would be cool though! Fox/Vixen vs Scarface/Lady Blue...

I really have stopped now, honest

Argh! I'm so tempted to contribute as an artist to this one, but I always crumble under the pressure of a deadline and things... :%

This decision requires more thought, and I will decide very soon... the writing bit might tempt me though, once I get some more info about what we could write. ^_^

I will be back...

Would you be willing to purchase a deck?

Y-yes. I just hope I'll have opportunities with FW members to play cards with, otherwise it's a lot of money spent not to use them. D:

Would you like to volunteer to be an artist?

Suuure. The job starting soon will take a lot of time away.. but I have my evenings, darn it!

If you would like to be an artist, would you prefer to do 4 or 2 pictures?

Either - I'm up for doing 4. :)

Do you want your fursona to be included in the deck?

Definitely!! :o

Please use this ref because it's recently been updated. Also linked on my art thread front page.

Writers ...

That could work. I'm okay with people writing quotes and stuff.

Who gets on what card?

GWS definitely a King. Fox and Badger high too. Weasel has got to be a Joker. :D Adder for Ace? Can't think regarding members at the moment.

Would you be willing to purchase a deck?
Absolutely. As cheesy as it sounds FW and this community have been a big impact on my life and anything like this I am more than willing to fork and amount of money out for. Count me as a definite buyer.

Would you like to volunteer to be an artist?
I would. I would also like to be brave and volunteer to do 4 slots. If you'll accept me!

If you would like to be an artist, would you prefer to do 4 or 2 pictures?
See above.

Do you want your fursona to be included in the deck?
Without a doubt. Reference to come.

Writers ...
I wouldn't volunteer for this. But I quite like the idea. I don't know about it being incorporated on the picture... Maybe very small text under the picture?

how do you feel about others of this forum writing a quote about you / your fursona?
For me, it's essential that I check what is said about me before it gets the go-ahead. Sorry. Paranoid.

Who gets on what card?
Royal cards should be reserved for active mods IMO. As for myself, I don't mind too much. I'd request the 2 of clubs for Geist (random I know, but I like it for some reason, might be because of hearts... heh) if others think a Geist Joker would be cool, I don't really mind... But yeah I'd like to reserve the 2 of clubs if we are reserving...

And yeah, Ranger you should just go for it :3 If you run into trouble or can't find the time, I'd like to offer my services for helping out with any arty panic moments again, so I say go for it :D Even if you can only get a rough sketch done or something, I don't mind offering to help finish off things ^_^

It would be cool to get as many arty folk involved as possible - even if you aren't intending buying a pack, it'd still be awesome for the getting involved side of things. I just really like the "getting together and doing stuff" motive ^_____^

I also don't mind doing extra cards if it ends up that there is a shortage of willing artists.

But yeah, it's cool to see so many people offering their services already :D

Oh, if reserving is happening, I'm interested in 7 of Clubs... it is almost like S Club 7, bwahaha - but that is not why I choose it :o.

But if it's not working like that because of fairness and what have you, then that's okay. :)

Probably not for that price... a fiver maybe but £15 seems a bit much for something that'll probably never leave my desk drawer... but then again, I might.

Would you like to volunteer to be an artist?

Yes, provided that people don't mind that I won't have any free time until the middle of July.

Two.

Would you be willing to purchase a deck?
Hell yeah I would. :D I would love to own a Forum deck. That reminds me...I still need to poke Thorn about calnder payments...

Would you like to volunteer to be an artist?
I'm very sorry to say I won't be :( I would love to, but I just don't have the time with year 12. I don't have much time even for normal leisure, let alone art. Besides, I'm not that good an artist and I take a while, so best avoid that.

If you would like to be an artist, would you prefer to do 4 or 2 pictures?

I know I'm not going to be an artist, but I'll still throw in my two bobs worth. I reckon maybe 2 depending on how many characters you want to include. If that's the case, then 4 would be better.

Do you want your fursona to be included in the deck?

Yes please. I would like that. I'll doodle up a a ref within the next week or so :)

Writers ...

Now this is something I can lend a hand in and I would like to be able to help with this if it goes ahead. Provided everyone's happy/ agrees to it of course. If it does go ahead, I can't do much during the first couple weeks of June due to exams. Apart from that I'm coool B)

Who gets on what card?
Not too fussed. I think though the admins and major leader characters form the series (e.g. Great White Stag, Fox, Scarface) should be the royalty cards. apart from that, go crazy! :D

Late post is characteristically late. But here we go:

Would you be willing to purchase a deck?

I certainly would be. Obviously that price a little more expensive than the calendar which may put people off. But it's not that much more expensive really and, if you think about it, a deck of cards has more long term practical applications than a calendar does ;).

Would you like to volunteer to be an artist?

Sure why not, though if I do people shouldn't expect something on the same level as the thing I drew for the calendar. That thing took weeks :faint:. That being said, there probably wouldn't be space for that sort of thing on a card face so, I'm sure people will be happy with head and shoulder pics ^_^.

If you would like to be an artist, would you prefer to do 4 or 2 pictures?

I'm a little confused by the explanation to this question. If you draw four then that's two farthing wood characters and two forum characters (one for each number of each suit) and if you draw two then that's one FW character and one forum character which then appears twice, once in each of the FW or forum suits respectively, yes?

So does that mean that if I choose to draw four pictures then I'm effectively denying someone the opportunity to appear twice in the deck so to speak? I'm happy to draw four pictures, but it seems that if some people are drawing four and some people two then it also means that some people will appear twice and some people will appear only once depending on who is assigned to draw your character.

I think that everyone should draw two characters OR everyone should draw four. Or actually I think we need to choose to either have each character appearing twice or each character appearing once and stick with that. Having it so that some characters appear twice and some characters only appear once based essentially on a lottery seems to throw up too many 'political' problems to me.

As a third alternative though. We could have each forum character appear twice, and then have each FW character appear once, thus doubling the number of slots for FW characters. It depends really on how many forumites want to have their characters in the deck; if each appears twice then we have only 13 slots (plus the joker) and if each appears once then we have to find 26 members who want to be included.

Of course, artists could still opt to draw four or two characters depending on their preference and availability, but that individual choice shouldn't effect the amount of times each character appears in the deck.

Do you want your fursona to be included in the deck?

I would. I do have a couple of reference montage pics on the other comp somewhere, so I'll have to upload one of those a little later on.

Writers ...

I don't know really, it seems like a fun idea if there's room for it. Without trying to sound indelicate you wouldn't want the card to be too cluttered up with text aesthetically, but if it was a subtle thing like a short sentence or phrase at the bottom of the card it would be a nice touch. It wouldn't work on the back of the card though, at least not if you ever wanted to play with them, as your opponents would immediately be able to see what cards you had based on the quote/text :P.

Artistic volunteers ... on the back of that, how do you feel about others of this forum writing a quote about you / your fursona?
I'm afraid, like Clan, I'd have to be able to double check/approve what's been written. I'm quite protective of my character and so I'd want some control over what's written about him, at least from people who don't know him all that well.

Who gets on what card?

It seems incredibly big-headed and awful of me but... bah I'm just going to do it. I'd like to request that Lute be an ace or a king of something, if he was an ace then maybe Fenrir could be the king, rather than Lute being the king and Fenrir being a queen... though that would give me something to tease him about on msn .

As for forum characters I'm not sure, I quite like the idea of a one suit heroes and one suit villains if we could come up with enough characters for each, I'll make a longer post about that in the other thread.

When it comes to choosing who goes where generally though Roses perhaps two or three of us could arrange to meet up on MSN or something and work through putting a list together then randomly assigning artists so there's a bit of secrecy like the calendar project? Though maybe people would rather know who's going where in advance and just leave the who's drawing who as the surprise?

I like this idea a lot! And yes, I was hoping to keep a bit of secrecy about it, but I didn't wish to dissapoint those who wanted their character on a set card (like you! :P). Heh he.

Roundhay's list is a good start. I was going to make a list of who (FW and Forum-wise) was to be included and then deal out a random deck of cards to assign suit / rank. Though considering I know how to false shuffle, I am probably not the best person to do that!! ;)

MSN is not the best thing with me as due to my current flat situation, I have no controll over the interent. Although that should be sorted as of July, so whooo! But yes that is a few months away and :/ ... gah, I can see this not becoming anything till next year at this rate! Argh.... :doh!:

But I can try and just hope my flat mates don't turn it off randomly!

But we shall keep who draws who a secret indeed. :)

Would you be willing to purchase a deck?

Yaaaah.

Would you like to volunteer to be an artist?

Real tough decision. I could not trust myself to finish in time and do a good enough job... so maybe next time :(

If you would like to be an artist, would you prefer to do 4 or 2 pictures?

Would have been 2!

Do you want your fursona to be included in the deck?

Yep, please! Ranger character! (a few posts from the top)

Writers ...

If we sort something regarding text on the cards give me a nudge and I'll see if I can help with that... at the moment I don't really know what the idea is!
I am quite happy for someone to write text about me/my character.

Who gets on what card?

I don't mind really, I'll leave the decision in capable hands!

Waheeee~ Supposing Thorn decides to be an artist too, we only need two more artists to have a full set :D Yayness. Of course, no pressure or anything, Thorn, if you weren't intending to be an artist or whatever :3 ^_^

Also, about the number of cards thing, the way I understand it is it's purely a personal preference thing. I think the overall aim is to follow the likes of Roundhay's nice collaboration in the other thread and have two suits forum and two suits Farthing Wood, with 52 (54 including jokers) different characters :) And everyone's contributing either two pictures or four pictures, and whatever's left will be picked up somehow. By my calculations we have 34 cards accounted for (supposing the "either or" people don't mind doing 4 cards) and even if we only end up with 38 cards accounted for, I certainly wouldn't mind picking up the leftover pieces. I will have rather a lot of free time for drawing over the summer, and don't mind doing a few extra cards to complete the set. For me, drawing the likes of a group picture is a huuuge undertaking, but drawing a small picture on a card of an individual character is significantly less so, so I really wouldn't mind :3

But I don't want to mess up calculations and all that... The idea of drawing two forumites and two Farthing wood characters for the 4 card artists, and one forumite and one Farthing wood character for the 2 card artists is the idea for sure ^_^ And whatever may be left over after all that, I certainly don't mind drawing the rest. Maybe once the first "batch" of organisation is all done (the potential first 38), people can see how they feel about drawing a few extra ones? There would only be 16-18 cards leftover from that to pick up on. I relish in arty projects, and really don't mind picking them up if no one else has the time or motivation or inspiration or whatever ^__^

And yeah, no one is appearing twice or anything like that according to my interpretation of it all D: But then again, maybe I am misinterpreting it all
